Interesting Facts
The grapes for Cune Gran Reserva are hand-harvested in Torremontalbo. The vines average 45 years of age, primarily facing south and east. The soils are clayey in places, with abundant river rocks. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes are placed in a refrigerated chamber for 24 hours to prevent oxidation, stabilize the color, and preserve the fruit aromas. Before alcoholic fermentation, a 24-hour cold maceration takes place in small stainless steel and concrete tanks. Malolactic fermentation takes place in concrete tanks, after which the wine is aged in American and French oak barrels for 24 months. After bottling, the wine is aged for an additional three years in the estate's cellar.
