Interesting Facts

Pinot Grigio first appeared in the Adige River valley in the 1950s. It was originally used there to produce elegant style rosé wines. It was only twenty years later, in the 1970s, that winemakers began to produce a white version of wines from this variety, which subsequently became dominant. The Mezzacorona estate decided to revive the original style of pink Pinot Grigio. The grapes for these wines are harvested exclusively from our own vineyards located at the foot of the Dolomites. There is a unique microclimate here that allows the grapes to ripen while maintaining fresh acidity. The wine gets its pinkish hue thanks to maceration on the skins and undergoes classic vinification in steel.
