Interesting Facts
The Abbona family first became acquainted with the Viognier variety in the Rhone Valley. Wanting to produce the great wine they found in France, they returned with it to their vineyards. That's where Cinerino began. The name of the wine comes from the name of the gray herons that sometimes stop in the lake next to the vineyards. The wort undergoes carbon dioxide static maceration, with further fermentation in acacia barrels at cellar temperature and daily batonage until the end of alcoholic fermentation. The wine is aged in an acacia barrel on the lees for several months with weekly bâtonnage.
